Odfjell Oceanwind, together with our partner Source Galileo, will with our UtsiraVIND project participate in the competition for seabed lease for floating offshore wind on Utsira Nord west of Haugesund in Norway. The intention for the three seabed leases of 500MW each is to stimulate technology and innovation, with the aim of reducing cost of energy from floating offshore wind.

Odfjell Oceanwind has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Norwegian exploration and production company OKEA and the utility company TrønderEnergi to jointly evaluate the potential of developing a floating offshore wind farm connected to the Draugen platform.

Odfjell Oceanwind is, together with its partners Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, a finalist in World Oil’s 2021 New Horizon Idea Award for its Mobile Offshore Wind Units (MOWUs) and WindGrid™ system.

Odfjell Oceanwind's unique portfolio of proprietary solutions for floating offshore wind was presented at Pareto Securities’ 28th annual Energy Conference 2021 in Oslo.

Odfjell Oceanwind has been awarded a pre-project grant from Enova, Norway’s fund for climate- and energy technologies, for maturing its first commercial contracts for Mobile Offshore Wind Units (MOWUs) and WindGrid for electrification of oil and gas installations.
